Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim flags off Rainforest Challenge Grand Final, 26 years after launching inaugural event

A nostalgic reunion with The RAINFOREST CHALLENGE by the YB (Right Honorable) Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim after 2 1/2 decades!

The Prime Minister flagged off 26 four-wheel-drive (4×4) vehicles on Tuesday (Nov 7) to mark the beginning of the Rainforest Challenge (RFC) Grand Final 2023.

The Pre-Event Launch took place at Dataran Putra, at the entrance to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in Putrajaya, the administrative capital of Malaysia.

It was a really meaningful reunion as some 26 years ago, Datuk Seri Anwar, who was then deputy prime minister, officiated at the first RFC on Nov 23, 1997, at Dataran Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur!

Yes, I remember 23 Nov 1997!”, smiled the Right Honorable Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to RFC Founder (Luis Wee) at the Pre-Rainforest Challenge Grand Final 2023 launch

What a journey for both Datuk Seri & the RFC through the years of challenges & finally catching up again at Dataran Putra, Putrajaya, and on the 7th of November, the feelings of gratitude & joy on the recognition by the Rt Hon Prime Minister on the contribution of RFC in branding & promotion of Malaysia as “Home” of the world ‘s no 3 of Top 5 Toughest Off-road Races!

Terima Kasih YB Perdana Menteri Malaysia!
