Apart from meet & build community bonding, man & machines that made this inaugural ORIC (Off Road in the City) a happening; its also a nostalgic catching up on the past that fires today’s RFC generation.

RFC advertisement on Pg 78 of Malaysia Car of the Year (MCOTY) annual book is a reminder that 29RFC 2026 is only a year away from the 30th anniversary of the Rainforest Challenge. Since 1997, a continuous annual event (except 2 years of the pandemic).

Our RFC Korea (Seo Qwon) presence at ORIC is another reminder that the bonds that bind the past is as strong as it is today. His credentials in RFC speak volumes – joined RFC in 1998, met the woman of his dreams, got married & honeymooned in RFC 1999. Since then, he has spread the spirit of RFC in Korea with media, participants & TV stars joining the mother RFC event in Malaysia.

The next generation Team 177 from RFC Terengganu / GG 4x4 together with compatriots UT4x4 were also present at ORIC to with their Land Rover & Pinzgauer machines. “Most important, bonding with ORIC, 4x4 & RFC,” said Tengku Khairul.

The next generation from RFC is also visibly present at ORIC at the secretariat & off-road tracks for test drives of EVs & from light to heavy duty 4x4 driving. A mixture of past & present organizing committee fuelling the pulse of the future for Rainforest Challenge.
